Introducing Jon Arckey

My favourite types of song are the compositions that are hard to categorise. I discovered Jon Arckey‘s ‘Sniffles‘ recently and was drawn in for this very reason. Lilting vocals over melodic keys, with distant twinkles, creative use of synths and a beat straight out of early hip-hop. It’s a curious blend that when put together hits that sweet spot between soul and hit-making pop. It absolutely radiates with the former.

Arckey states that; “It’s a song about coming to terms with my world ending while still believing that there is hope, or a chance at least, that even when it all comes down, maybe I will create something that survives“. This is an artist with a lot of layers to him.

Sniffles” was produced with Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stoneage, Them Crooked Vultures) and the near perfect production shows. Although even without it, Arckey‘s voice and vocal arrangement are clearly his strong suit- This man could sing anything a make it sound pretty spectacular I’m sure.

Multi-instrumentalist and performer Jon Arckey is Colorado native based out of Los Angeles and Nashville and has close ties to the thriving Denver scene in Colorado.

I can’t wait to hear more of this highly creative and sensitive artist.
