Weekend Videos: Bones Garage – Birthmarks

Bones Garage had me sit up and take notice from the get go with their debut “Birthmarks“. Despite only being together for a short period the Tel Aviv quinter shows the confidence of a veteran band on this track.

Kicking off in restrained fashion the track builds up nicely without ever disappointing. Introduced by the band members humming and chanting the lead melody you know you are in for a treat when frontwoman Ariel joins in with her unique timbre, the lightly accented vocals adding an extra twist to proceedings and keeping the track interesting throughout.

Layer after layer the band offers a constant cocktail of dirty guitars and angelic melodies that culminates in a glorious final crescendo that will have even the biggest cynic nodding their head in appreciation. Similar to Pretty Girls Make Graves in setup (5-piece fronted by a woman) and in some of the melodies this is the band I’ve been waiting for since the Portland legends disbanded.

The accompanying video for the track shows BG are interested in producing the highest quality of material even when it comes to visual elements. With a European tour planned for later this year it won’t be long before a label comes sniffing.

The album ‘Massacre/Dance‘ is due out in the Summer
