The organ melody to “Plastic Skateboard” by Brave Baby, I could listen to for days. It’s a good job the rest of the song is so good or I’d be replaying the first ten seconds all day.
Whispered vocals in fresh circular melodies above a layer of liquid bass, bar room beats, and ‘Go Your Own Way’ guitars congregate for what I reckon could be a fantastic summer hit.
An intoxicating haze in a tight package and subtly executed, “Plastic Skateboard” could’ve been a mid-seventies laid back rocker, but time has allowed an outfit like Brave Baby a chance to be cleverer and distinct in their efforts, keeping what can be a tired sound into something absolutely addictive and original.
“Plastic Skateboard” is the first single from Brave Bay‘s debut album ‘Electric Friends‘, out August.
