Weekend Videos: Lethal Bizzle – “Whoa”

Lethal Bizzle’s latest track, “Whoa”, celebrates hard work and its resulting success. Produced by long-time partner Diztortion, the trippy anthem is grounded in a dancehall beat that will transport you from wherever you’re listening to a flashy, booty-shaking club.

Whoa” is an exclamation of victory. After all, “anything [Bizzle does], that’s whoa.”According to the rapper, “Whoa” “[l]yrically… echoes themes addressed in [his] recent viral movement #SkintGang, which sees the entrepreneur creating a series of videos across socials giving financial advice about how to manage your money effectively and providing more insight into how he’s managed his own business ventures.” Despite the track’s focus on economic success, Bizzle maintains gratitude by recognizing the foundation of his roots and the journey of his ride to being one of the top grime MCs in the game. “Whoa” is doused in how-to-succeed sauce, teasing what we might be able to achieve if we’re as dedicated to the grind as Bizzle.

The video, directed by Carly Cussen (Stefflon Don, Krept & Konan, Little Mix), boasts a stylistic nod to Miami Vice and features a proud Bizzle, accompanied by bizarrely dressed companions, partying in a colourful array of sets that can be interpreted as his version of a Wonderland. Perhaps best described as “disoriented distortion,” the punchy retro vibes accent the rapper’s playfulness, a visual pun of Bizzle’s fun and colourful personality.

Whoa” is out now!
