Weekend Vidoes: Aaron Taos – “Saboteur”

Aaron Taos closes out the year in stellar fashion with his retro-tastic video for the single “Saboteur“. the track offers a clear nod to the music of the mid-90s with the Los Angeles singer sprinkling in plenty of irony and self-deprecating humour and managing to create an authentic alt-pop gem along the way.

The video, of course shot on VHS, follows Aaron around for a day as he recreates the words and mimes sardonically in some of LA‘s most iconic spots. The lyrics here are about trend following and hunting for likes, something that is particularly noticeable in his corner of the world.

We were first exposed to Aaron a couple of years back with his single “Bangs” which, while being slightly more indie rock-oriented, still maintained some the subversive qualities we enjoy so much.

Definitely one we will be keeping an eye on in 2020.
