ASH announce newly re-mastered splatter edition vinyl re-issues

ASH featured on the bill of my first ever festival when they were merely teenagers and I was probably too young to be in attendance. Though my memories are a little hazy (14-year-olds probably shouldn’t drink beer) I have a distinct memory of Tim Wheeler wooing the audience with his cheeky charisma.

They were also one of the very first bands to be featured on this blog when it was started a decade or so later. All this information no doubt dates me, but it is also a testament to the Irish trio’s longevity. Their music is synonymous with skate parks and going to my first indie discos in London and for this reason, I don’t need much of an excuse to mention them.

That being said, it is awfully convenient that the band have announced the upcoming re-issue on newly re-mastered splatter vinyl of two of the highlight albums in their discography, ‘1977‘ and ‘Free All Angels‘. Both churned tons of singles and were the soundtrack to a, at least personally, happier and more carefree period.

If this isn’t enough good news there is also a scheduled run of UK dates commemorating the release of “Free All Angels” which will include none other than Charlotte Hatherley. I always felt she brought a different angle to the band’s sign and am glad that they are still on good terms.

Catch them at the following venues:

Thur 15 Sept – O2 Ritz, Manchester, UK
Sat 17 Sept – O2 Institute, Birmingham, UK
Sun 18 Sept – O2 Forum, Kentish Town, UK
