For most of us Levi‘s is a name synonymous with blue jeans and a cowboy swagger but it seems the denim kings are keen to weave their way into the music community (yet again).
The results are interesting and its great to see where these recognised acts took their inspiration from. Check out their website to get all these ace tracks and check out for the weekly updates.
Band of Horses epic break-up symphony “No One’s Gonna Love You” has rocked a lot of iPod‘s since its release in 2007. After 3 years, one listener decided to take the track to the next level. Thankfully for humanity, that auditory scientist was Cee Lo Green of Goodie Mob & Gnarls Barkley fame.
He has insanely popified the track with his ultra-unique vocals and uplifting whilst simultaneously depressing hip-hop electronica. For this task he has undertaken, I am very pleased.
Oh yes, and the Video is beyond incredible.

Cee Lo Green – No One’s Gonna Love You (hype machine)
Zane Lowe’s Radio One listeners were last night treated to a live session by Oxford’s angular indie heroes Foals. Over here at Cougar HQ some of us love Foals, others love The Police and some of us hate them both. We managed to agree that this version of ‘The Bed’s Too Big Without You’ is pretty ace. Enjoy
It is December and people are already compiling their end of year (and indeed end of decade) “Best Of” lists. I started thinking about mine way back in August which probably says more about me than it does about the quality of music released in 2009.
While I separate the contenders from the also-rans here are some fun covers from VV Brown and The Maccabees that I appreciated in the last few months.
As a bonus, seen as the Fenech-Soler post yesterday went down well I’ve also added a link for the remix of ‘Lies‘ by The Phantom Revenge.
Lastly, if you havent already joined the Cougar Microbes on facebook what are you waiting for?
