Lucky Elephant release second single ‘Reverend Tisley & His Magic Lantern‘ from their Sunday Best debut album ‘Starsign Trampoline’. Apparently it is the tale of 19th Century East London character Reverend Tisley including references to his excessive drinking, fortune telling and his mythic magic lantern.
Sound weird? Don’t worry, frontman Manu‘s rural life vs city life imagery works a treat in his prominent French accent and make for a great listen. Check out the rest of the album and its melodic spark.
‘Starsign Trampoline‘ and the single ‘Reverend Tisley & His Magic Lantern‘ are out now on Sunday Best

Lucky Elephant – Reverend Tisley & His Magic Lantern
I just got back from a weekend in Paris covering Rock En Seine (full reviews and photos coming) where I saw a great performance by Kitty, Daisy & Lewis in front of an appreciative crowd if not slighlty bemused audience. The band are back on British soil now and are playing what is essentially a homecoming gig at Camden’s Proud Galleries on Wednesday 2nd of September.
Having also supported Coldplay on their huge North American tour it will be interesting to see how the North London siblings’ 50s tinged rock n roll will change in a smaller setting. Undoubtedly they will enjoy being able to see the audience’s faces again.
Support on the night is provided by a DJ set from Monsieur Rob Da Bank as well as Sunday Best protégées Lucky Elephant.
