Pop Etc. is a band we have been following on and off for several years. Under their former guise of The Morning Benders they released one of our favourite albums of 2010. The Brooklyn based outfit have since shed that moniker (rather dramatically I might add) and have released their 4th album titled ‘Souvenir‘, yet their essential melody centric sound has not shifted in focus.
“Please Don’t Forget Me” relies heavily on a warm feeling of nostalgia both in the track and the video. It highlights a band unafraid to move away from the Beach Boys melodies of yesteryear towards a refined, upbeat and equally infectious 80s keyboard led sound.
“The future is getting better all the time“. Indeed.
