CAT is Catherine Pierce, one half of the American duo The Pierces and this song is her first release as a solo artist. Her voice is still captivating and haunting, as she is singing about a mutual obsession.
The song was written by CAT and produced by Jason Lader (James Blake, Frank Ocean), during few years of wandering around jungles in Peru and travelling around the US. The song, itself, is a journey (and a rather dark one) portrayed by the visuals as a woman in white wandering the streets in difference places, not sure if she’s searching something or running away from something. I guess only CAT has the answers.
The full debut album is expected to be released later this year.
