Little Dragon’s third LP, ‘Ritual Union‘, stays true to their signature sound – an electronic arabesque of synthpop chillout soulful trip-hop – while also bringing some fresh musical perspectives to the table.
Consistently catchy hooks pepper the album from beginning to end (e.g. the title track ‘Ritual Union‘,” ‘Please Turn‘, ‘Shuffle a Dream‘), and the final track, ‘When I Go Out‘ stands out with its delicately stripped sound and overly distorted vocals.
Although ‘Ritual Union‘ lacks a melancholy “Twice”-esque ballad, overall Yukimi and the gang succeed in creating another hypnotic collection sure to be found on repeat.
