Introducing Jumanji

The bad news is that the writer originally assigned to cover Jumanji has disappeared off of the face of the earth taking his words along with him. The good news is that the Brighton upstarts have kept themselves particularly busy since they first came up on to our radar at the beginning of 2018 with a slew of releases and multiple shows under their belt.

The sextet deal in super melodic tracks with riffs for days seemingly designed to get you up off your chair and dancing. Longtime readers of this blog will know we are particularly keen on female-fronted indie and Jumanji‘s Neneh Atkins does a superb job in anchoring these breezy indie-pop gems. Sounding somewhere between Los Campesinos and Two Door Cinema Club track after track Jumanji find a way to infiltrate your brain and stick in there for ages.

By all accounts, the band’s live set is brilliant as well and one of my resolutions for 2020 will definitely be to get myself to one of their shows.
