Kape Yeel don’t reveal too much about themselves beyond the fact that they are an alternative pop/rock trio from Östersund, Sweden. A little further digging reveals this is the work of Linus Malmsten on vocals, bassist Kevin Stålberg and keyboardist Theo Malmsten but we are also perfectly happy with just letting the music speak for itself.
The band first came to our attention with the release of the boisterous brass led “Tatterdemalion“. with hooks the size of skyscrapers. The track packs multiple penthouses full of attitude but most of all is a fun experience even after repeat visits.
As suggested by its title their latest single “Sex Addicts” is a more racy affair but does not forgo the grooviness and general air of cool that made them such an interesting proposition in the first place. Built on an almighty bass riff, the track comes in like a long lost funk band jamming with Daft Punk on new year’s eve.
