Sawtooth Witch – “The Hustle”

Mike Munson and Josiah Smith are the artist duo behind Sawtooth Witch, based in Minneapolis. They produce indie rock and American dance music with a touch of country. ‘The Hustle’ is the opening song of their debut album ‘The Chariot’, consisting of 8 tracks, released on April 24 2025.

The Hustle is a song that fits perfectly into their theme of the unfulfilled American dream. The song is dark and atmospheric, paired with fingerstyle guitar and an upbeat tempo. The lyrics bring light to how we are all slaves to money and believe hustle and hard work is the only way out, even tho the system is rigged to never let you out. The hard-hitting beats, mixed with soulful, biting vocals, were exactly what was needed to drive the message home.

Twenny bucks- “Small Green Frog”

Twenny bucks
is UK-based. Their single ‘Small green frog’, released on April 24, 2026, is indie rock that’s slightly metal leaning. The single has the most humorous unserious music video that features an inflatable green frog doing the mundane everyday activity, and at the end, going absolutely crazy on the drums.

The track itself has a very cathartic feeling of just abandoning all responsibilities to just exist as a small green frog. The song, when not paid attention to the lyrics, feels really serious with heavy bass, drums, and muted vocals and tiny screams, but add the lyrics and the music video, and it is pure chaos that feels very Gen-Z dry humour.

Ken wood and The electric reckoning – “Eyes Shut.”

‘Eyes Shut’ is a 7-minute long musical course that gets more and more intense with every verse by Ken Woods, a renowned conductor, composer, and cellist. It starts with a very broody, dark atmosphere, when the vocals come in, there is a sort of epiphany as the anticipation of what this song is about fades, it becomes clear it revolves around the morals of living in a world with political parties trying to push you into a narrative.

The track, with its guitar solos and strong vocals land somewhere between a confession and a protest with a blanket of guilt and learnt lessons over it.

Shannon Hudson – “Beauty in my day.”

Beauty in My Day is the sixth track from Shannon Hudson’s album Signal and Noise.

Shannon Hudson is a USA, Texas-based artist who is a committed husband and father. His values of family are also reflected in the track ‘Beauty of My Day‘. Soft acoustic sounds with a steady rhythm and soulful vocals that are laced with pride and love for his partner.

The lyrics ‘I can’t imagine my life any other way’ show deep gratitude and are the ultimate show of love to a partner. The track feels really intimate and romantic. The song is about how their partner keeps them going and is the beauty of their day.

Jean Noir- “Long for this world.”

Long for This World is the lead single from Jean Noir’s Canyon Prince EP. The EP itself sounds like if Conan Gray was the vocalist of The Marias, 60’s mellow beats with soft soothing vocals, and that keeps things fresh yet nostalgic is exactly what Canyon Prince is about.

The track has many textures and transports you to a different world from the first chime of the bell. The way the instruments are arranged almost feels alive and ethereal. The lyrics are hazy but romantic and feverish. It’s a song you’d wanna loop and feel like you are floating on grasslands, and your eyes have a default vintage film grain. It’s a song you’d never want to wake up from.
